EDI Turbocharges Sales


Moving on larger cross-selling opportunities, Equitable Distributors (EDI), the distributors of Equitable's insurance products through third party channels, reorganized its wholesale infrastructure to also include AXA financial advisors.

The channel play is no surprise: AXA advisors alone are expected to generate $3-4 billion in variable annuity action this year, and the new integration will create ancillary efficiencies.

"The reorganization increases coverage, with more wholesalers and greater product breadth," said Patrick Miller, chief executive officer of EDI. "It's an ability to leverage technology, service, and marketing."
