Russell Taps Fidelity


Frank Russell Company has tapped Capital International and Fidelity as managers of its international funds. Capital International will manage a growth assignment in the International and International Securities Funds. The Russell Insurance Funds will use Fidelity as a core/growth manager in the Non-US Fund.

Morgan Stanley KLD Index Fund will be the New York-based firms newest fund. The firm filed paper work in the fund with the SEC April 17.

Paychecks for chief financial officers grew 17 percent last year to $2.77 million, says Pearl Meyer & Partners. The biggest part of compensation growth was stock option awards, which grew 25 percent to $1.41 million. Incentive pay rose 16 percent to $469,000 and salary increased 9 percent to $507,000.

Datek Online has layed off 131 workers (10 percent of its staff) as part of a consolidation of its offices. It is consolidating operations in its New Jersey offices in Edison, Iselin, Secaucus, and New York City into one office in Jersey City, New Jersey. The cuts are in response to market conditions.
