Bringing Beantown to the Mason-Dixon Line

Rydex Funds is not yet complete in restructuring its sales force focusing on variable annuities and the broker/dealer channel. It still seeks at least two additional wholesalers.

As part of the recent changes, the firm has promoted two wholesalers to head each division in newly-created positions.

Carl Resnick, who once worked for Fidelity, is now the national sales manager for variable trust distribution. Resnick has three wholesalers reporting to him with plans bringing on a fourth.

Also in the cards is a new wholesaler reporting to John Cadigan, who had operated out of Rydex's Boston office but is now moved to Rydex's home office in Rockville, Maryland. The move stems Cadigan's recent promotion to national sales manager for the broker/dealer channel. Among other duties during his tenure at Liberty, Cadigan had managed the broker-dealer force. In his new position, he will lead four internal and four external wholesalers. He also plans to hire two additional external wholesalers and two internal staff.

Both managers report to Dennis Hearns, the senior vice president of the broker/dealer channel.
