Changes On The Homefront

Wiesenberger is on the hunt for a new marketer. As reported last week in MutualFundWire.com, Dawn Kahler left her senior position at the company to become vice president of marketing and communications at Rydex.

In the process, Wiesenberger is looking to expand the role of vice president of marketing and communications and find someone whose experience is appropriate to the company's business model.

"We do a lot of B2B software development applications, so we're looking for somebody with good experience to provide customized software solutions to financial services companies as well as our traditional PC-based and internet-based tools," said Bill Chambers, president of Wiesenberger. "Ideally, we're looking for somebody with financial services experience who also unerstands how to utilize the new mediums like the internet to help tell our story. We're also looking to do a lot more on the PR since we have so many reputatable companies we're working with."

Chambers said he hopes to hire someone within the next month, he acknowledged that Wiesenberger's search efforts coincide nicely with typical mutual fund bonus pay-outs. Although the company hasn't sought the services of an executive search agency, Chambers added he hasn't ruled out the possibility either.

"I'm getting a lot of interest and people referring people to us, but if I don't think we're getting the quality or type of people we're looking for, we'll go with an agency," said Chambers. "It's a very important position for our company. We're growing fast and we're moving into lots of opportunities, so I want to make sure we hire the right person and help set strategy for the whole firm."
