Dreyfus Repositions Distribution

Dreyfus filled out their management team with two senior marketing and sales executives to execute their distribution strategy.

Ursula C. Carty was plucked from PaineWebber to serve as the new executive vice president and director of distribution marketing, and Dreyfus raided OppenheimerFunds for Laura Mulhall, the new executive vice president and head of the independent financial planning sales division.

Carty will oversee Dreyfus' distribution marketing efforts through all sales channels and she will report to Stephen R. Burke, president of Dreyfus' marketing and advertising division.

Carty was at PaineWebber for 16 years, most recently as senior vice president of product management and development for the firm's asset management division. Before that, she was senior vice president and head of proprietary fund marketing. Carty received her bachelor's degree from Fordham University.

Mulhall is expected to drive Dreyfus' sales through the newly-formed independent financial planner sales division. She will report to Michael G. Millard, president of Dreyfus Investments.

At OppenheimerFunds, Mulhall was senior vice president and director of the financial advisor division, responsible for sales to financial planners, insurance companies, broker-dealers and small regional brokerage firms. She received her bachelor's degree in economics from Hunter College.
