Alliance Seeks Sales Spot

Alliance Capital has shifting its sales organization to accomodate changes in the marketplace as well as internal demands. The company is still on the hunt for a sales staffer.

Management of the financial advisors and financial institutions groups has been combined under the leadership of Kevin Rowell with new management positions created on both sides. Rowell spoke about the increasing and natural trend for the institutional and advisor networks to cross paths.

"There are a lot of similarities between what the financial advisors and financial institutions do," he said.

"We recognize that the client's model is changing," said Rowell. "It's our goal to meet the clients' needs a little ahead of the curve."

Furthermore, Rowell cited Alliance's success in the institutional area. "We've had a lot of growth in the banking channel, 140 percent last year," he said.

As part of the reorganization, Ray Sclafani, most recently in information technology for Alliance, was promoted to the position of national sales manager for the financial institution group. Sclafani has also served Alliance as a wholesaler.

The advisor side is split geographically, with Mike Tobin now handling the East and Hank Schulthesz in the West. Tobin's promotion has created a vacancy in his old position of eastern division sales manager which he is presently seeking to fill.
