McCracken joined the firm in 1977 and has more than 20 years of experience as a management consultant. He became a partner in 1982 and was elected to the boards of directors of Deloitte & Touche in 1995 and Deloitte Consulting in 1996.

"Doug is uniquely qualified to lead Deloitte Consulting," said James Copeland, CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, in a statement. "He is global in outlook, and understands the integrated environment that the Deloitte brand brings to the market.
