Friday, April 28, 2000 Fidelity To Co-Brand Funds With Investors Group Canada's largest fund company, Investors Group (IG), is developing a series of growth-oriented mutual funds for the Canadian market with Fidelity Investments.
The new IG Fidelity funds, which will cover several asset classes, will be advised by Fido's Canadian subsidiary, Fidelity Investments Canada Ltd. Subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals, the funds will be available to clients this summer. Through the new alliance, Fidelity will gain access to IG's 3,600 consultants and their clients. As of March 31, IG's mutual fund assets totaled more than $43 billion, with about $5 billion in co-branded funds, sub-advised by seven other investment managers.
