Franklin Looking to Help

Franklin Templeton is forming the Franklin Templeton Private Client Group. This new group will combine the sales and marketing efforts for Templeton Portfolio Advisory (TPA) and Franklin Management, which provide private separate account management to individual and smaller institutional clients as well as advisory services through third party broker/dealer wrap fee programs.

"This integration of the sales and marketing processes will enable us to expand our efforts to sell our services in a wider variety of distribution channels and to better serve the investment professional," said Greg Johnson, member of the office of the president, Franklin Resources. "The formation of FTPCG is a function of our commitment to the retail and smaller-institutional separate account business in which we foresee considerable opportunity for growth."

Kent Strazza, senior vice president of Franklin Templeton Distributors, was appointed executive managing director of FTPCG. Jan Young, director of marketing for FMI, has been appointed director of FTPCG. Together, they will oversee all of the sales and marketing activities of the portfolio consultants and marketing specialists and will be responsible for maintaining broker/dealer relationships and key account management. Additionally, they will be responsible for the integration of the marketing, sales training and client presentation materials for FMI and TPA.
