Monday, January 10, 2000 CFO at mPower mPower/401kForum has hired David Demarest as the firm's first ever cfo, a spokesperson told the 401kWire.com. Demarest previously served with Montgomery Asset Management as chief administrative officer. Demarest also has experience working at The Copeland Companies and Wells Fargo Bank, where he had been cfo for the private banking group. "When you bring a new ceo on, it is a very exciting time for a company. It usually means an expansion of the staff, and that is certainly happening with us," David Peckman, vice president of marketing, told the MFWire.com.
Does this move mean that mPower will be going public in the foreseeable future? Officials at the firm aren't saying, but industry watchers know that the hiring of a cfo is a portent that that may very well be happening.
