Geist was previously president and chief operating officer. R. Stephen Doyle, 59, who is stepping down from CEO will remain with Montgomery as chairman. Doyle has held that post since the company was formed in 1990.

Doyle is stepping aside in preparation for retirement, although he is still under contract for three more years and is likely to stay on longer, Pete Greenley, a spokesman for the company said.

In addition, the company named Scott Tuck, formerly chief marketing officer, as president, and David Demarest as chief operating officer, previously chief administrative officer.

Both Tuck and Demarest will maintain the duties of their former positions but have expanded responsibilities, Greenley said.
