Dataware Includes Wiesenberger Software

Dataware Technologies, Inc. (DWTI) and Wiesenberger, a unit of Thomson Financial, have formed an alliance to combine their respective software systems for mutual fund and insurance company clients, a spokesperson with Wiesenberger told the MFWire.com. The combined package will be customized to suit customers' needs on CD-ROMs from Dataware.

This new alliance will enable customers to utilize Wiesenberger's InvestmentView and Blueprint software on Dataware's system.

InvestmentView is fund and annuity illustration software (formerly HySales), while Blueprint is asset allocation software.

The goal for the firms is that the hybrid system will aid investment professionals in the sales and research process. The two companies intend for their tools to be user-friendly and interactive.

The spokesperson reported that the alliance came about when a mutual client requested Wiesenberger's services on the Dataware systems. "All the software is in one place. It will streamline the process for our clients," the official stated.

"This partnership will contribute to Dataware's long-term strategy of maintaining a leadership position in information management and multimedia solutions by combining our skills at delivering Electronic Marketing Tools with Wiesenberger's leading software applications," said Howard York, vice president of solutions delivery group for Dataware Technologies.

"Electronic Marketing Tools make it easier for financial services firms to differentiate themselves as they compete for shelf space on the investment professional's desktop. The easier the financial services company makes the sales process, the more likely the investment professional will turn to that firm again in the future," York added.
