American Century Moves Fund Manager Into Strategy Position


Harold Bradley, an 11-year American Century veteran, and former manager of American Century Heritage and VP Capital Appreciation, has been promoted to senior vice president of strategic investments, reporting to Bill Lyons, president of American Century.

Bradley will be responsible for managing and evaluating private equity investments -- in the last few years alone, Bradley has helped facilitate American Century's investments in various technology-based companies, including TradePoint, Archipelago, W.R. Hambrecht and WorldStreet Corporation.

Linda Peterson will continue to manage the American Century Heritage and VP Capital Appreciation funds, assisted by analysts Michael Orndorff, David Rose and Pat Warren. Chief executive officer James Stowers III, who oversees American Century's domestic growth funds and has been with the company since 1981, will also assist the Heritage team. The company will also hire an additional portfolio manager by the end of the year.
