ING Variable Annuities will make its product information available to brokers and financial advisors through the MoneyStar Financial Network (MoneyStar/fn).

    • MoneyStar/fn functions as a broker information resource and a center for electronic sales and marketing literature about retail financial services products. ING Variable Annuities will add their variable annuity products to already existing insurance and investment funds on the Network, which includes funds from AIM, Jackson National Life, Franklin Templeton Funds, New England Financial, GE Financial Assurance, Delaware Investments and Glenbrook Life & Annuity.

    MoneyStar/fn acts as an electronic "warehouse" that makes financial product and marketing literature available to financial intermediaries. MoneyStar/fn also integrates product information into the sales process through MoneyStar LifeScript, a point-of-sale tool for brokers and advisors. A spokesperson for Moneystar stated that most of the intermediaries utilizing the service came from the larger financial institutions like Wells Fargo, California Federal and Norwest, but Moneystar was moving quite rapidly into the less traditional distribution channels.

    "Electronic distribution offers advantages to both manufacturers and distributors of financial services," said Bill Lowe, senior vice president, broker/dealer division. "By utilizing the Moneystar Financial Network, we have significantly advanced our efforts in this area."
