Brown Brothers Taps New Equity Management Head


Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. of New York, New York has picked Young Chin, 42, to be the head of equity management and director of equity management research, a position newly created for him. He will report to Jeffrey A. Schoenfeld, partner and cio. Chin will oversee about $11 billion in equity assets managed for mutual funds, institutions, and high-net worth individuals .

"We are pleased to have Young Chin to head up our equity management business." said Schoenfeld. "He is a 'thought-leader' with the experience and track record that will help Brown Brothers to increase its reputation for excellence in equity investment management."

Chin's responsibilities include equity portfolio management, fundamental research, quantitative research, and equity trading. He will sit on the asset allocation committee and serve as a spokesman for Brown Brothers equity management products.

Prior to joining the firm's team, he served as managing director and head of US equities for Blackrock Financial Management, formerly PNC Asset Management.
