PIMCO Hires New Fixed-Income Head

PIMCO Advisors Holdings L.P. (PA) announced that Paul A. McCulley will rejoin its fixed income unit, Pacific Investment Management, as an executive vice president. Earlier in his career, he had served for two years as an account manager and monetary policy specialist at Pacific Investment Management.

Mr. McCulley had been a managing director, head of economic research for the Americas, and served as head of U.S. fixed income strategy for Warburg Dillon Read.

"Paul will assume portfolio management responsibilities at PIMCO, including supervision and hands-on responsibility for $15 to $20 billion of short-term securities, as well as several PIMCO mutual funds," said Bill Gross, PIMCO founder and chief investment officer. "His talents and background ensure that he will be a key contributor in developing economic and investment strategies. In addition, he will be available to discuss the firm's economic and investment strategy with clients and business prospects."
