Researchers at discount brokerage firm Charles Schwab & Co. conclude that there are specific blends of index funds and so-called actively managed funds that have the best chance of accomplishing a goal held by many investors: minimizing a portfolio's risk of lagging behind the market, while increasing its probability of outperforming it, in today'sWall Street Journal.
