Oppenheimer Lures Fidelity Institutional Exec


OppenheimerFunds has hired Charles McKenzie, former senior vice president with Fidelity Management Trust Company, as senior vice president and managing director of marketing and business strategy at HarbourView Asset Management, its institutional money management division.

  • In his new role, McKenzie will be in charge of building OppenheimerFunds' institutional investment management business, developing business strategy and product development and management.

    "His background and experience will be extremely valuable in helping us broaden OppenheimerFunds' institutional product line and in evaluating potential institutional acquisitions," David Schultz, president and CEO, HarbourView Asset Management.

    At Fidelity, McKenzie was a senior vice president, responsible for directing institutional client service efforts. A spokesperson at Fidelity said his position was filled but would not say by whom. Before joining Fidelity, McKenzie was national director of institutional marketing/product development and portfolio manager for MetLife Investment Subsidiaries.
