INVESCO Focuses on Advisors

In an effort to strengthen its relationships with financial advisors, Invesco has decided that it will add A and B Class shares to all of its products. That process will begin on March 1, 2002.

Executives at Invesco point to an Investment Company Institute study which concluded that most investors seek the assistance of a financial advisor when selecting mutual funds for an investment portfolio. The firm, therefore, believes that its relationships with those financial advisors is critical.

"Our goal is to be the most valued investment manager to our clients; to make our products available in the channels in which they choose to do business. For some time now, the fastest growing segment of our business has been the broker/advisor channel, with virtually all of our new net flows coming from financial advisors," contended Ray Cunningham, president of Invesco Funds Group.

But what about existing retail shareholders?

Cunningham further contends that these changes will not apply to existing retail clients. Those customers may continue their transactions on a no-load basis.
