Portfolio Manager Changes This Week


Kevin McCloskey, 33, has joined Federated Investors as vice president and portfolio manager in the large cap value equity group, where Federated manages $7.7 billion in assets. He will report to Michael Donnelly, senior vice president and head of value equity investing at the firm. McCloskey joins Federated from Killian Asset Management in Palatine, Illinois.

  • JP Morgan announced the appointment of Victoria Paradis, vice president, as a stable value portfolio manager. She will be responsible for the management of stable value portfolios, and will also take over as the leader of the group's new business development efforts. Paradis joins Morgan from Pimco where she was responsible for developing stable value investment strategies and the development of new business.

    OppenheimerFunds has hired Jayne Stevlingson to manage the Oppenheimer Discovery Fund -- she will join Oppenheimer's equity department effective August 9. In addition, she will become a part of the department's Growth Team, specializing in small-cap stocks. Stevlingson succeeds Jay Tracey, who will devote his time to the management of the Oppenheimer Enterprise Fund. Prior to joining Oppenheimer, Stevlingson had been at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter where she was a senior vice president and portfolio manager of the $760 million MSDW Developing Growth Fund.

    Wanger Asset Management, (WAM), the investment advisor to the Acorn Family of Funds, has named Margaret Forster co-portfolio manager of Acorn International. She joins Leah Zell, the lead manager of the fund. Forster has been at WAM's international team since 1994. Prior to joining WAM, she was a professor of finance at Northwestern and Ohio State Universities, and was an economist with the International Monetary Fund.
