New Faces at State Street, New England Funds, and Federated.


State Street Research & Management has a new vice president of retail operation. Tom Holland, 35, has joined the firm from Putnam Investments, where he was senior vice president of the communication service department. He will report to Kevin Wilkins, senior v.p. of retail marketing.

  • Holland's position, newly created, will oversee the back office relationships for servicing all mutual fund shareholders, including 401(k) participants and individual investors, as well as the company's web development. Holland said that the incorporation of an on-line advice component for SSR&M is still being discussed.

    New England Funds, one of the Nvest affiliates, has hired two new key account executives, for the broker-dealer, insurance, and wirehouse channels.

    The company has named Stephen DiMaio and Marla McDougall as vice presidents and directors of key accounts. DiMaio will be responsible for building relationships with national wirehouses, regional broker-lender home offices and insurance and independent firms. McDougall will be responsible for relationships with affiliated broker-dealers, New England Financial and MetLife Securities. Both will report to John Hailer, executive vice president and managing director.

    Pittsburgh-based Federated Investors has hired a value manager, Kevin McCloskey, as vice president to join its eight man value team.
