Russell Explores Global Opportunities

Frank Russell Company is exploring ways it can further build its global fund business. The Tacoma, Washington-based subsidiary of Northwestern Mutual Life is reviewing it sales and service strategies and tactics and looking at its product line-up. Frank Russell overs 130 multi-manager funds and manages $63 billion in assets.

The firm has put together a team of four to look at "where the opportunities are," said a spokesperson. He added that Frank Russell is open to changes and new products worldwide. The project is ongoing, said the spokesperson.

Heading the initiative is Rui "Roy Moura, manager of product/market management and research. Moura started in the newly-created position in July and he reports to Ann Moe, director of corporate marketing and communication. He joined the firm from Jones & Babson where he was chief marketing officer and where he developed a new branding initiative for the Babson Funds. Maura has also worked for Funds Distributors and Fidelity Investments.
