Cigna Awards 401k Assignments

Wellington Management and Artisan Partners have both been selected by CIGNA Retirement & Investment Services to subadvise new funds for the 401(k) plan vendors retirement product. The two firms will manage funds for Cigna's Charter Funds products that it offers to corporate retirement plan clients. All of the Charter Funds are subadvised.

Wellington Management will subadvise two value funds: the Charter Large Company Stock Value III Fund and the Charter Midsize Company Stock Value Fund.

Artisan has won the role of subadvisor for a new mid cap growth sector addition to the Charter Fund family: the Charter Midsize Company Stock Growth Fund. Artisan's Andrew C. Stephens will act as manager of the fund.

"These three new funds complement our existing lineup of premier institutional and retail investment managers and provide our clients with greater choice across asset classes and style categories," said Victor Saliterman, senior vice president, CIGNA Retirement & Investment Services.
