Friday, January 22, 2010 A Fund Chief Departs John Adams, CEO and CIO of Munder Capital Management, has left his post. The timing of his departure could not immediately be confirmed. Adams' bio no longer appears on the executive management section of Munder's website, nor is he listed in the company's phone directory. Adams could not be reached for comment. A representative from Munder declined to comment. According to a published report Jim Fitzgerald, Munder's president, will assume Adams' non-investment duties, and Tony Dong, vice chairman and mid-cap team leader, will take over Adams' CIO role.
Adams was promoted to CIO in February 2005. At the time, he retained his role of senior portfolio manager on the large-cap value and core value investment vehicles. In January of 2007, Adams assumed the CEO position after Munder management successfully bought-out Comerica's majority stake in the firm, then known as just Munder Capital.
