New York Fundsters Turn Out for the Yankees

Some fundsters took a break from work Friday morning to catch the Yankees' ticker-tape parade in downtown Manhattan.

Derek Jeter

Hundreds of thousands of people trooped to Broadway to get a glimpse of Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Hideki Matsui and the rest of the Yankees as they made their way down the Canyon of Heroes. Confetti and toilet paper rained down from the skyscrapers.

Also spotted in the crowd was a (very brave) man sporting a Red Sox cap.

Asset managers that are based in Lower Manhattan include OppenheimerFunds, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Brown Brothers Harriman. Mutual fund transaction processor Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation is also based downtown.
