Pimco Grabs a Goldman Alum

Pimco has hired Goldman Sachs alum Andrew Jessop as executive vice president and portfolio manager in its high yield team. Jessop will start at the Newport Beach, California-headquartered firm on November 30.

It was not immediately clear whether Jessop is taking on a newly created role or if he is replacing someone. A Pimco spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.

Jessop was most recently a managing director, portfolio manager and co-head of the high yield group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he spent 12 years. He left the firm when the high-yield team was combined with the bank loan team. That combined team is now headed by Rob Cignarella, Rachel Golder and Roberta Goss.
