Vanguard Capital's Higgins is Off to a Smashing Start


A little over a year after taking the helm of Vanguard Capital Value, Peter Higgins has clinched the top spot in the Wall Street Journal's Winners' Circle contest for the year ended September. The fund chalked up a return of 29.62 percent, according to Morningstar.

Placing second is Eric Cinnamond's Intrepid Small Cap, which gained 29.35 percent during the period. Dreyfus Small Company Value, with David Daglio at the helm, is No. 3, with a 27.12 percent return.
