Monday, September 21, 2009 Merk Nabs a Marketing Pro Merk Investments has hired Judy Haber for the newly created post of director of marketing, The MFWire has learned. Haber joined the Palo Alto-based currency fund speclialist on August 26 and reports to president and CIO Axel Merk. Her arrival at the company came two weeks before Merk launched its third no-load offering, the Merk Absolute Return Currency Fund. Haber's addition to the firm raised the number of employees to 11. Before joining Merk, Haber ran her own financial services marketing consulting firm for 13 years. Her clients included mutual fund firms, institutional investment managers and broker-dealers. Earlier in her career, Haber served as director of marketing for Schwab Institutional. "I felt that I enjoy working for dynamic and smart entrepreneurial firms, and this was an opportunity that was too good to pass up," Haber said. "It's a great fit for both of us."
