Thursday, March 28, 2002 Fifteen Marketers Feel the Axe This past week, Van Kampen has laid off 15 members of its marketing staff, a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. The official claims that the move was taken due to a closer integration of duties between Van Kampen and its parent firm, Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley purchased Van Kampen in 1996. The spokesperson did not know whether all the marketers were located in one office or scattered about the country. "This cuts will not affect our ability to get our message out," the spokesperson further contended. "We do not foresee letting others go at this time," she concluded.
