Thursday, June 11, 2009 BlackRock-BGI Mega Deal Could Come as Soon as Thursday BlackRock's expected acquisition of Barclays Global Investors could be announced as early as Thursday, the Wall Street Journal's Eleanor Laise reports, citing anonymous sources. BlackRock is expected to shell out around $13 billion for BGI. The deal could leave Barclays with a 20 percent stake in San Francisco-based BGI. Speculation about BlackRock's interest in BGI came to light last month, and last Friday the Financial Times reported that a deal was near (see The MFWire, 06/05/09).
