Monday, May 18, 2009 Morningstar Takes Smart Phones by Storm The brainchild of Joe Mansueto continues to expand its reach. MFWire has learned that Morningstar recently launched an iPhone application, with a premium iPhone application and a BlackBerry application both coming later this year. Kunal Kapoor, president of Morningstar.com, confirmed that the iPhone application launched earlier this month and confided that he hopes to unveil the BlackBerry one in late summer or early fall. However, he declined to comment on the upcoming premium iPhone app. According to Kapoor, the current iPhone app evolves as Morningstar responds to voting feedback from users. "We tried to make it interactive," Kapoor told MFWire. The current "Morningstar Mobile" iPhone application appears to be free and also works with the iPod Touch.
