An ETF Firm Brings in a Marketer
AdvisorShares Investments, an ETF-focused firm majority-owned by Fund.com, has hired a marketing director. The Bethesda, Maryland-based company brought on
board Kathleen Young, a former vice president and equity liaison at A.G. Edwards.
The MFWire reported on AdvisorShares' search for a marketer and two wholesalers
in March (see
The MFWire, 03/13/09.)
Last month, AdvisorShares filed with the SEC to launch what would be its debut product, an actively managed ETF-of-ETFs sub-advised by HS Dent (see
The MFWire, 03/12/09).
Young joins AdvisorShares CEO and founder Noah Hamman, executive vice president Dan Ahrens and vice president of business development James Carl.
Hamman, a Rydex Investments alum who earlier worked for FOLIOfn and Fidelity, started AdvisorShares in late 2006.
In November of last year, online financial content provider Fund.com took a majority stake in AdvisorShares.
