Fidelity Appoints a New Mega-Cap Fund Manager

Fidelity tapped Matthew Fruhan to run the Fidelity Mega Cap Stock Fund. He takes over from Richard Mace Jr., who is retiring from portfolio management after a 22-year run at Fidelity. Fruhan, who rejoined the fund firm in 1999, will continue to manage the Fidelity Large Cap Stock Fund and Fidelity Advisor Large Cap Fund, which he has managed since 2005.

Fidelity also named John Mirshekari as portfolio manager of Fidelity Select Air Transportation Portfolio and John Sheehy as manager of Select Defense and Aerospace Portfolio. The two succeed Maurice FitzMaurice. Mirshekari joined Fidelity in 2003 and will continue to run the Select Transportation Fund. Sheehy, who joined in 2007, currently manages the Select Paper and Forest Products Portfolio.

The appointments took effect April 1, according to Fidelity's Web site.
