NEW YORK (March 24, 2009) – Over the last year, many investment managers have lost almost half of their operating revenues, creating a devastating cost structure. This has forced companies to take a hard look at how to overhaul their current business models.

As a direct response to the current challenges that the industry is facing, kasina, a strategic management consulting firm, has announced the hiring of Eric Daugherty as its Resident Intellect. Daugherty’s first day will be April 1st.

“Because of the current environment, companies are rethinking the fundamentals of their business and asking kasina to help them find ways of evolving their business models to ensure long-term viability,” says Steven Miyao, kasina’s CEO. “We’ve been searching for the best people in the industry to guide our clients through this tough time. We are excited to have found Eric Daugherty, as well as our recently named Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, Deb Wetherbee (formerly of FRC).”

Mr. Daugherty comes to kasina with 15 years of hands-on experience in business unit leadership, financial advice services, strategic planning, and financial analysis. Previously, he was a Principal at The Vanguard Group, where he led the Advice Services Group, an experience that will prove to be invaluable as kasina reexamines how firms sell through financial intermediaries. He also has a background as a strategic planner and as a senior manager of several finance groups.

Mr. Miyao adds, “Eric’s expertise in analyzing an organization, identifying improvement opportunities, and enhancing productivity will serve kasina’s clients as we look at reinvigorating the industry’s business models.”
