Friday, March 15, 2002 STI Adds Fund Wrap SunTrust is rolling out asset allocation services targeted at retail investors in its Mid-Atlantic and Southeast markets. The Investor's Advantage Plus service will be offered through intermediaries in its SunTrust Securities division and is based on the FundQuest platform. The fee-based accounts will enable intermediaries to work with individuals in selecting funds and managing their accounts. The firm explained that it is offering the product in response to demand for fee-based, investment-related products and services. "These new services provide our clients with an actively managed tool to assist them in reaching their financial goals," said Peter Bielan, president of SunTrust Securities. The minimum account size is $35,000 for a product that offers only the STI Classic Funds mutual fund family. Accounts with more than $100,000 will also be able to invest in funds from SunTrust's six strategic mutual fund partners.
