Reynolds to Obama: Fend Off the Zombies!

Bob Reynolds wants "mark-to-market" accounting rules suspended, but he also wants the government to just let "zombie companies" die. The Boston Globe's Ross Kerber reports that, after a Thursday morning speech to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Putnam CEO told reporters that the federal government should stop propping up the likes of AIG.

"Let them go," Reynolds said. "We've pumped so much money into them, to what end?"

"We need to end the half-measures, denials and uncertainty," Reynolds said earlier in his speech. "Let's get beyond this lemon socialism we've been drifting into."
