Thursday, March 5, 2009 Index Funds Chalk Up 2008 Victory Over Active Funds In Thursday's Wall Street Journal Fund Track column, Sam Mamudi points to Lipper data showing that index funds' market share rose by 1.4 percentage points in 2008 to 13.2 percent. Index funds saw $17.6 billion of net inflows last year, while actively managed stock funds posted net outflows of $221.8 billion.
