Jay Mantz, Stephen Trevor and Stuart Bohart headed up Morgan Stanley Investment Management until recently. The executive Morgan Stanley is looking for would become the unit's sole head for the first time since February 2008, when Owen Thomas was promoted to run Morgan Stanley's Asian operations.
