Thursday, February 26, 2009 Most Fund Categories See January Inflows; Assets Still Down All but one category of mutual funds saw inflows in January, yet overall assets under management fell by $191 billion or 2 percent, to $9.411 trillion, according to ICI data. Stock funds posted an inflow of $9.05 billion in January, compared with an outflow of $20.43 billion in December. Bond funds had an inflow of $16.73 billion in January, compared with an outflow of $7.01 billion in December. Money market funds had an inflow of $59.52 billion in January, compared with an inflow of $109.35 billion in December. The only category tracked by the ICI that showed outflows was hybrid funds, which posted an outflow of $419 million in January, compared with an outflow of $1.99 billion in December.
