Retail Money Funds Drive Assets Down
While the past week was a good one for institutional money market funds, the bad news on the retail side overwhelmed the institutional results. The Wall Street Journal highlights the ICI's latest weekly money fund data, which saw assets drop $3.2 billion in the week ended Wednesday to $3.903 trillion, led by a $6.15 billion decline in retail money funds.
Institutional money funds, on the other hand, upped their assets by $2.95 billion in the week.
