Equity Fund Flows Swing Negative Again

After three weeks straight of positive inflows, equity funds suffered net outflows again last week. The ICI just released its weekly "long-term mutual fund flows" data for the week ended Wednesday, January 28, which reveals total domestic and foreign equity fund net outflows of $2.958 billion.

A net of $334 million flowed out of hybrid (i.e. mixed stock and bond) funds, while bond funds gained $3.177 billion in net inflows. Thus, overall non-money market mutual fund outflows totaled $115 million net last week.

Equity mutual funds had drawn net inflows each week since December 30.
