Friday, January 23, 2009 After a Banner Year, Sentinel Taps a National Sales Manager and Grows its Team After chalking up record sales in 2008, Sentinel Investments promoted Jamie Atkinson to the new post of national sales manager and made additions to its distribution team. Sentinel, the investment management arm of Vermont-based National Life Group, recorded more than $1.5 billion in gross sales in 2008, a company spokesman told The MFWire. "Despite the market turmoil and financial crisis affecting all of us, Sentinel Investments had a record sales year in 2008, up by more than 100% over 2007, posting our best sales months in the very volatile fourth quarter of the year," said Jim Cronin, president of Sentinel Financial Services Company, in a news release on Friday. Cronin added that Sentinel was one of the few companies to record positive net flows last year, despite having sales management vacancies in key markets. Atkinson, who joined Sentinel early last year as eastern division sales manager, now leads a team of 15 wholesalers. The new faces on the team are Chris Shanahan, Ted Roundy, Tim Call, J.P. Raflo and Carl Berg. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=20549 Copyright 2009, InvestmentWires, Inc. All Rights Reserved |
