Dividend Funds, Short-Term Bond Funds Share the WSJ Spotlight

Funds from Vanguard, T. Rowe Price and American Funds get positive coverage in Tom Lauricella's Monday article in the Wall Street Journal's monthly Investing in Funds section.

In the article, Lauricella writes that investors could be turning to dividend funds after witnessing the roller coaster in the stock market. Morningstar analyst Christopher Davis names Vanguard Equity Income, T. Rowe Price Equity Income, and American Funds Washington Mutual Investors as among the attractive options. Also mentioned is an ETF from Barclays Global Investors, the iShares Dow Jones Select Dividend Index Fund.

The Investing in Funds section includes a piece on short-term bond funds. It singled out Allegiant Limited Maturity Bond Fund, American Century Short Duration, Delaware Limited-Term Diversified Income, Janus Short-Term Bond and Vanguard Short-Term Bond Index as "strong performers to consider."

The section also includes an article on how investors can minimize the risk in trading ETFs features quotes from James Ross, senior managing director at State Street Global Investors and Invesco PowerShares chief Bruce Bond.
