Dreyfus Plans to Add An Emerging Market Fund

Dreyfus Corp. has filed to launch the Dreyfus Premier Emerging Markets Debt Local Currency Fund. According to a May 15 SEC filing, the fund will pour in at least 80 percent of assets in debt securities of issuers in emerging market nations denominated in the local currency of those countries, or in currencies of emerging markets countries. The fund will be offered in Class A, C and I shares, and will use the JPMorgan Government Bond Index-Emerging Markets Broad Diversified as its benchmark.

Emerging market funds in Dreyfus' current lineup include the Dreyfus Premier Emerging Markets Fund, Dreyfus Premier Emerging Asia Fund and Emerging Markets Opportunity Fund
