Citi Puts Primerica on the Block


Citigroup is looking for a buyer for its Duluth, Georgia-based subsidiary Primerica Financial Services, The New York Times reported. Primerica distributes financial products and counts more than 25,000 licensed mutual fund representatives, according to its Web site.

The site lists the following fund firms as having a distribution relationship with Primerica:

  • American Funds
  • AIM Investments
  • Franklin Templeton Investments
  • Legg Mason
  • Oppenheimer Funds
  • Pioneer Investments
  • Van Kampen Investments
