MStar: Expense Ratios Stop Free Fall

Mutual fund fees may have stopped dropping. InvestmentNews' Sue Asci reports that, according to new data from Morningstar, the average fund expense ratio stayed at 90 basis points from 2006 to 2007, after falling from 100 basis points in 2003. Russell Kinnel, Morningstar's director of research, told Asci "it's tough to see" average expense ratios falling in 2008, and he added that they might even rise by a basis point.
