Pioneer Taps Insider to Head U.S. Portfolio Management

Pioneer Investments has appointed Kenneth Taubes as head of U.S. portfolio management, a company spokeswoman told The MFWire.

“Ken has done an outstanding job managing the fixed income team in Boston,” said Marco Pirondini, global chief investment officer of Pioneer Investments said in a release. "Ken’s selection will ensure consistency and stability across the organization"

Taubes was previously director of fixed income for the Boston-based investment management firm, a title that he will retain in addition to his new role. Taubes replaces Charles Mayer, who retired in December.

As of December 31, 2007, Pioneer had 44 open-ended funds with $311.8 billion of assets globally.
