A January to Forget for Mutual Fund Firms

In Monday's WSJ Fund Track column, Renee Schultes recounts mutual funds' rough January. According to AMG Data Research, market volatility caused investors to yank a net $32.9 billion from stock funds in the first month of the year. That, according to the report, was the worst month of outflows since July 2002. Not all is lost though, said AMG president Robert Adler. Inflows have resumed in February.
