Fund Industry is Not Feverish

In today's WSJ Fund Track column, John Spence uses earnings reported yesterday by Franklin Resources and Janus to take the fund industry's temperature. After evaluating the two companies' better-than expected report cards, Spence concludes that despite the increased volatility and uncertainty in the markets, fund companies will continue to do well. Spence also throws in earnings reported after the bell yesterday by Federated Investors, which reported lower year-over-year profit, noting that not all fund companies fared well last quarter.
