Thursday, January 24, 2008 NYSE-Amex Merger Would Limit ETF Listing Choices ETF companies should be paying close attention to the NYSE Euronext-Amex merger because it would eliminates one of the major ETF listing platforms. In today's WSJ Fund Track column, John Spence reports that the NYSE Arca platform, which currently boasts 240 ETF listings, will pick up an additional 380 Amex-listed ETFs. Jeff Ptak, Morningstar's director of exchange-traded securities analysis, tells Spence that that consolidation may lead to "less leverage for ETF providers when negotiating listing fees."
